Smith Westerns – Debaser Strand, September 30th

Smith Westerns – Debaser Strand, September 30th

As you might know, Debaser is my second home. Debaser had to shut down the, for me, ‘legendary’ venue Slussen last weekend due to redesign of the Slussen area. (Crap!)
Luckily, Debaser opened a new venue at Strand. Smith Westerns’ gig was my first at this new venue.

Support act on the evening were Side Effects. With their début album out on October 30th, their live set may have felt a bit immature, but I definitely see potential. Just need to wait for the album then…
Side Effects
As it was a Monday evening, and the venue not exactly at the city center, it wasn’t sold out. Although there was still a decent audience after all when Smith Westerns took the stage.

The band from Chicago, Illinois sounded great, even-though I wasn’t really familiar with their sound and songs yet. Lead singer Cullen Omori loved his popularity and recognition he was getting from the crowd. Maybe a bit too much, but who am I to judge… Overall: good band, nice crowd, great venue; nothing to complain!
