The xx – Together
When F. Scott Fitzgerald published his novel The Great Gatsby in 1925, his mail goal was to create a piece which would prove himself as a writer. The soundtrack of latest movie adaptation by Baz Luhrmann features bands and artists that don’t need to prove themselves anymore.
Jay-Z, Beyoncé, will.i.am, Florence and the Machine, Jack White and Bryan Ferry are just a few examples of the Great Gatsby’s packed soundtrack.
However, we were quite looking forward to the xx contribution to the album.
The track is called Together, a 5-minute long showcase of typical the xx sound. Pay attention to the second half of the track, when the addition of strings turn Together into an powerful, dark and deep track.
