To Kill a King – Banquet Records, February 25th 2013

Picture the scene: Monday evening. 6.10pm. A small record store in Kingston Upon Thames, Banquet Records. An audience of forty or so. A five-piece band with two instruments (three if you include a plastic bottle) between them. Welcome to the Banquet Records in-store with To Kill a King.

The songs might not be anything new, but Ralph Pelleymounter’s stunning vocals lifted the set from the ordinary to the spine tingling. The atmosphere in the store started out muted, but by the last song, the forty strong crowd was fully behind them.
