FSM Favorite : The Griswolds

Yes, time for yet another FSM Favorite. Next in line is the Australian band The Griswolds.
This Australian 5-piece have made one of the best tracks of 2012 with Heart of a Lion. But more on that later this month in our top-20/30/40/50/100 of 2012 list!

The Griswolds’ tunes are happy, light and catchy. No, not just catchy; way, way beyond just catchy. Lovely layered guitars, smart harmonies with a wink towards 80’s simplicity.
Their track Mississippi is just one big sunny, almost tropical track with the awesome ingredients described above.

But as said earlier, their track Heart of a Lion is one of the best I’ve heard this year. It appears daily in my playlist and I simply can’t get enough of it!
Uptempo happy quirky indie-rock to perfection. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh–ohoo-ohoooh!
Have a look (and listen) to this fantastic track below, and you might catch my drift!
Warning: We’re not responsible for uncoordinated arm-movements, music OD’s, rapid dancing feet or accidents with heavy machinery due to listening to this track!

The guys confirmed via Twitter that they’ll be playing some shows in the UK in the first half of next year.
We don’t know where yet, but boy, are we looking forward to it!
By the way, if you’re in Australia, these guys are the support act of Django Django in Brisbane in January… Go see them! Really!

You can download their awesome Heart of a Lion EP on the lads’ BandCamp page! You’ll also be able to find more gig dates on that page.
Head over to iTunes to download the EP for your pod, pad, phone or tunes iThings.

Again, The Griswolds; a well deserved FSM Favorite!
